apud Anglos, est numerus XII. Legalium hominum iuratorum, per quos omnis fere facti probatio fit, et ex quorum veredicto Iudex sententiam suam conficit et profert. Et quidem, sicut per Assisam lites ditimuntur, quae instrumentis aut chartarum probationibus innituntur, vel cum partes de facto consentiunt, aut de assisa: ita per iuratam, quae incertae sunt, et de quibus non constat, deciduntur; ita ut vel per inquisitionem vel per Iuratorum ac Sacreamentalium depositiones, quas veredicta vocant, rerum veritas a Iudicibus veniat indaganda. Quae posterior Iudiciorum forma, ab Henr. II. Angl. Rege manâsse dicitur, quo Duellum ab ordinariis iudiciis amoveret. Vide pluribus de ea disserentem C. du Fresne in Gloss. In Campania Galliae, Iurata, Gall. Iuree, tributum est, quod Iuratis burgensibus imponitur et Dommo Feudali praestatur quotannis, viz. sex denarii de librata bonorum mobilium et 2. den. de librata immobilium: ur est in Charta Libertatum Trecensium Theobaldi Campaniae Com. quam refert Pithoeus ad consuetud. art. 2. apud Eund.
